Prosek Partners Internship Program

Are you a talented college student looking for a full-time or part-time internship like no other? We offer positions in our New York and Connecticut offices. Our interns do “real” work, whether it’s pitching the media, devising strategy or writing press releases or articles. (Of course, we don’t mind if you volunteer for a coffee run once in a while.)

In addition to all you’ll learn as a Prosek Partners intern (what exactly do PR people do, 20 things you didn’t know about financial services, media pitching, etc.) here’s something else you need to know. We pick the best and brightest as interns and when they turn out to be even more fabulous than expected, we hire them for full-time jobs! Prosek Partners currently has seven former interns on staff.

Here’s the nitty gritty of what you’ll learn and the skills you’ll master:

You’ll gain a basic understanding of what a career in public relations entails and how companies incorporate and utilize public relations to build and expand their brands. Interns work across all of our industry groups, including Financial Services, Professional Services, Energy, Corporate Campaigns, Digital Media & Entertainment, Event Planning and Insurance.

On any given day, an intern might:

  • Develop and update
    media lists
  • Work with various managers across multiple business groups
  • Create and maintain editorial calendars
  • Compile digital clip books to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate
  • Actively pitch, research, craft and develop story ideas for various media outlets
  • Practice “role playing” media pitches with our team members

  • Take part in brainstorm sessions
  • Coordinate and complete daily coverage and
    content scan
  • Participate in client meetings and media interviews
  • Research and draft various editorial pieces (including media advisories, press releases, bylined articles and Op-eds.)
