Prosek Hires Jim David as Head of Washington Office

Jim DavidNew York, NY— January 27, 2022— Prosek Partners announced today it has hired Jim David as its Head of Washington Office. Formerly, David was a partner at Hamilton Place Strategies in Washington, D.C., where he specialized in mission-critical public affairs work, including M&A advocacy, legal and regulatory matters and other special situations. Prior to his position at HPS, Jim was a senior leader at Kekst & Company in New York.

“Prosek is a talent-led organization,” said Jen Prosek, Managing Partner of Prosek. “When we find the right talent to make investment around, we do it. Jim brings the perfect combination of financial communications and regulatory expertise. He also has the ‘grit, hustle and humanity’ attributes that perfectly align with our culture. For our clients who need to navigate complex regulatory issues and special situations at the same time, Jim will bring us a unique perspective. Jim will head a new office for us in Washington, which will open in 2022. We are already hiring Washington-based talent that will join Jim and three existing professionals in this office.”

“I am thrilled to be joining Prosek,” David said. “Jen and her team have built an exceptionally dynamic and creative firm. Their development of world-class capabilities in key areas like special situations, ESG and integrated marketing has made Prosek an increasingly powerful platform for clients over time. With this new office, that strategic growth continues. The most difficult communications challenges require interdisciplinary insight. Having built my career at the intersection of financial, corporate and policy communications, I am excited about how Prosek’s new Washington office will benefit clients and team members.”

“I have known and respected Jim for many years and am personally delighted to welcome him to our team,” said Andy Merrill, Partner at Prosek responsible for Special Situations. “Having a presence in Washington is absolutely critical to supporting our clients that are navigating complex and often multi-jurisdictional legal, regulatory and transaction-related challenges. I look forward to working closely with Jim as we extend our offering in this important area.”

At Hamilton Place Strategies, he led advocacy campaigns and profile-building programs involving the full range of communications disciplines, including strategic message development, content creation, third-party engagement, rapid response, digital strategy, media relations and more. At Kekst, where he was a managing director and member of the executive committee, David focused on private equity and hedge fund clients as well as M&A, activist shareholder, bankruptcy and crisis assignments.
