Prosek Partners
Jennifer Prosek founded Prosek Partners in 1991, with the vision of helping the financial services sector become more proactive – and far more creative – around brand and reputation management. The firm’s offer now covers media relations, thought leadership, social and digital media, public affairs, investor relations, financial communications, transaction services, crisis communications and issues management, content creation, conference support, publishing, media training and more. In 2021, Prosek stepped up its ESG credentials by taking a majority stake in sustainable finance consultancy, Blue Dot Capital – another female-led business and last year launched a joint integrated investor relations ESG offering for public and late-stage companies.
But it is the mergers and acquisitions space that Prosek made its most powerful statement in 2024. In recent years, the firm has become a fixture on the mergermarket rankings of North American M&A advisors, but last year saw the firm surge into second place (behind global giant FGS) in terms of the volume of deals it worked, and fifth in terms of deal value. supported HPS Investment Partners, a leading global credit investment manager, announcing its acquisition by BlackRock; represented PE firm Veritas Capital announcing the proposed recapitalization of its longtime portfolio company Cotiviti; and worked for Vista Equity Partners announcing the acquisition of PowerSchool by Bain Capital. The firm was also among the top five advisors on corporate activism last year.
Overall, it was a year of what Prosek calls “graceful growth,” which included geographic expansion—adding a new Abu Dhabi office (headed by Diana Estupinan and advising clients including Saudi Arabia’s $925B sovereign wealth fund, The Public Investment Fund) as well as the firm’s growing London operation. The firm also continued to expand its data and analytics capabilities, including a significant investment in AI. The firm’s “conference concierge” offer, which supports clients and their leadership through a range of events, is another differentiator. Additional growth came in the sports business consulting practice.
Overall, fee income increased by about 14% and Prosek ended the year with revenues of close to $120 million, enough to rank comfortably among the top 40 PR firms in the world, and 400 people. With Prosek continuing at the helm, the firm also promoted three managing directors to partner: Alex Jorgensen, Katie O’Reilly and Jim David, leaders in investor relations, conference concierge and public affairs, respectively. The firm has been recognized a best place to work and has a strong commitment to community service: 500 volunteer hours in 2024.
Highlights of the work included supporting the launch of a philanthropy vehicle, SCI Ventures, a fund addressing spinal cord injuries (SCI) with the ultimate goal of curing paralysis; supporting the third annual CAIS Summit for CAIS, an alternative investment fintech platform; and refreshing the brand identity of Lincoln Property Company as it celebrated its 60th anniversary.—PH
