Former H/Advisors Abernathy Managing Director will focus on special situations, financial communications and reputation management
NEW YORK, NY — September 11, 2025 — Prosek Partners, a global integrated marketing and communications firm for financial and professional services, today announced that Eric Bonach has joined as a Managing Director in New York in the firm’s special situations practice. Eric joins Prosek from H/Advisors Abernathy, where he spent the last seven years, most recently as a Managing Director helping to lead the M&A and activism team.
Eric brings over twenty years of experience providing communications counsel to clients involved in transformative and high-stakes situations, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, proxy contests, unsolicited takeovers and “bet-the-company” litigation. In addition, he has deep expertise in financial communications and reputation management, working closely with clients to proactively enhance their public visibility and media relations programs.
Jennifer Prosek, Founder and Managing Partner of Prosek Partners, said: “Eric’s track record advising clients through some of the most complex and high-pressure moments in their corporate lives makes him an invaluable addition to our team. His expertise in M&A, activism, litigation communications and reputation management will bolster our already-strong special situations practice. We are thrilled to welcome Eric to Prosek.”
Eric Bonach said: “Prosek is a firm I have long admired, with a truly dynamic and differentiated offering and an unrivaled reputation for excellence across strategic communications and financial services. I am excited to build on the firm’s talented special situations team and look forward to contributing my experience as we help clients navigate their most critical challenges, while leveraging their opportunities for success.”
Prior to his time at H/Advisors Abernathy, Eric served as Global Head of Communications for Rubicon Project (now Magnite, the world’s largest independent sell-side advertising company) where he oversaw all internal and external communications. He previously held roles at Burson-Marsteller on its financial communications team and began his career at Joele Frank where he spent eight years.
Eric’s hire underscores Prosek’s continued investment in its growing special situations practice and builds on the firm’s commitment to providing best-in-class counsel to clients across complex corporate, financial and regulatory environments. The firm has been ranked #2 globally for M&A deal volume and #4 for deal value globally by Mergermarket in its H1 2025 M&A Rankings.
