NEW YORK, NY – October 19, 2015 – Prosek Partners, a leading independent public relations and financial communications firm, has launched its PR Development Program. Created specifically for recent college graduates looking to kick off their career in the public relations industry, the full-time, paid program provides practical experience and exposure to day-to-day agency work. Program participants – termed “Prosek Apprentices” – are given the opportunity to work across all of the firm’s industry practices, including Financial Services, Insurance, Professional Services, Energy, Corporate Campaigns, Digital Media & Entertainment and Event Planning, allowing them to assess where their interests and strengths lie.
Unlike a traditional internship experience, the PR Development Program allows for a transitional opportunity wherein recent graduates are groomed over the duration of the program and given the necessary tools to step into entry-level positions upon completion of the program. It is a real chance to test drive a full-time position to determine whether it is a mutual fit.
“This program is a true testament to our differentiating factor at Prosek – the people. We take the time to lay the groundwork, invest in their career development and provide them with the opportunity to carry that experience into a full-time role,” said Karen Niovitch Davis, Chief Human Resources Officer. “We expect this to be an effective hiring conduit for the firm and an excellent way for recent graduates to segue their coursework and prior internships into our unique fast-paced environment.”
Guiding them along the way is the Prosek Apprentice Boot Camp, a 16-week-long curriculum featuring professional development sessions that are taught by senior members of the Prosek staff, including CEO Jen Prosek. The sessions are uniquely tailored to provide Prosek Apprentices with a strong foundation across all aspects of the industry. Starting from the ground up, the Apprentices are taught critical administrative skills such as monitoring the daily news cycle, tracking media coverage, research, and reporting. The courses gradually advance as they begin to delve into other fundamental PR areas such as media relations and networking, PR writing, presentation skills, client relations, industry immersion and analytics, event management and conference management, and crisis scenarios.
The PR Development Program has three incoming classes per year – the longest being the summer apprentice class, which begins in early June and ends in late September. This is followed by fall and spring classes, which vary in size and length. The program is offered in each of Prosek Partners offices, in New York City, Fairfield, CT, and London. Prosek Partners encourages recent graduates to apply directly through its website on an ongoing basis.
