Q & A

What are you most proud of in your (public relations) career?
Founding and managing my own PR firm for 16 years before joining Prosek.

Name one thing most people don’t know about you.
For a year before law school I drove a used Land Rover through ten countries in Africa—starting in Cape Town and finishing in Kinshasa, Zaire (now Congo). The highlight of the trip was an unforgettable, three-week journey from Kisangani to Kinshasa on the famed Congo River. The entire trip gave me immeasurable perspective and patience.

How would your mother describe you?
Thoughtful and empathetic.

What are your greatest strengths as a (PR) communications practitioner?
Connecting with people and being able to understand how communications can play a role in whatever business objective they are trying to achieve.

What is your favorite food?
Steak frites

Describe your perfect client.
One where the relationship is so strong that I can walk the halls of their offices as though I work there.

What three hobbies or activities do you enjoy most?
Watching my two sons play any sport.
Surfing early on weekend mornings with two of my oldest childhood friends.
Family vacations when it’s just the four of us. Where we go is almost irrelevant.

What’s your favorite part of the workday?
Getting up as early as I can to get a jump on the day before the phones start ringing and the emails begin coming in.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life?
I would want it to be Christopher Reeve (aka Superman), but I would get Adam Sandler.

What is your favorite quote?
“You think you’re the first person I’ve dealt with who woke up in bed with a dead body?” -- Ray Donovan
