Nadia Damouni

Nadia Damouni is a Partner at Prosek, where she provides strategic communications and ongoing counsel to public and private companies as they undergo lifecycle changes including M&A announcements, fundraisings and company launches, IPOs, restructurings, board governance and executive management transitions, as well as other types of crisis management. She also leads executive visibility and media relations programs to increase her clients’ profiles and promote their reputation. Prior to joining Prosek in 2017, Nadia was a Senior Vice President in Edelman’s Financial Communications & Capital Markets division where she helped grow the firm’s special situations team. Nadia spent the first part of her career as a leading financial journalist covering M&A deals, corporate governance and shareholder activism. During her time as a corporate board correspondent and team leader for M&A at Thomson Reuters, Nadia interviewed top leaders in corporate America and Wall Street.

Nadia has been nominated for several major journalism awards, including a Gerald Loeb Award, and has moderated and presented on dozens of panels around the world, including the World Economic Forum in Davos. A champion for women in business, Nadia is a member of The Quorum Initiative, and devotes her time to promoting gender representation in the industry. Nadia earned an MA in International Journalism from City University of London and holds a BA Honors Cum Laude in Communications from Richmond, The American International University in London.


Q & A

What are you most proud of in your communications career?
Having transitioned from a breaking news reporter, blowing the lid off some of the biggest corporate board stories, to a career in PR where I can use my media instincts and experiences to support my clients’ reputations. 

Name one thing most people don’t know about you.
I was a political reporter in the Middle East early on in my career, covering issues in Jordan and Lebanon.

How would your mother describe you?
You’re so diplomatic.

What are your greatest strengths as a marketing and communications practitioner?Being prepared, ensuring my clients are thinking of all the outcomes before deploying a strategy, and understanding the best path/s to getting a positive result.

What is your favorite food?
Middle-Eastern cuisine all the way.

Describe your perfect client.
One that works with me as a partner, wants to collaborate and is a trailblazer that is not afraid to set the agenda.

What three hobbies or activities do you enjoy most?
Cooking, walking my two dogs (lab-mixes), and traveling to far-away destinations with my husband.

What’s your favorite part of the workday?
First thing in the morning when everyone is energized and ready to combat whatever the day has in store.
