- BBC presenter Andrew Neil has thrown down a gauntlet to Boris Johnson challenging the prime minister to face an interview with the veteran journalist before polling day. The Tory leader has continued to dodge whether he would submit himself to questioning by Mr Neil ahead of the general election, insisting he has already put himself forward for unprecedented media scrutiny.
- Prince Andrew has come under renewed pressure to testify as a witness in cases against the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, following a BBC investigation into their relationship. A lawyer representing five women who accused Jeffrey Epstein of abuse said he had prepared subpoenas for the Duke of York. This means that if the Duke were to visit the US, he could be compelled to give evidence.
- Children from disadvantaged backgrounds are unlikely to see their educational opportunities improve under the next government if election pledges made by any of Britain’s main political parties are implemented.
