- Tony Blair appeared at the Bloomberg offices this week, imploring those in the Remain campaign to “rise up” to Brexit which was met with considerable criticism. The former successful British politician agreed that yes, the people voted to leave Europe and that will should indeed prevail, but claimed that people voted on Brexit “without knowledge of the full terms” and that its repercussions will be detrimental.
- Mix Heinz ketchup and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream together, and what do you get? Kraft Heinz made a move to acquire Unilever, which would create the biggest food company in the world if the mammoth merger goes forward. Unilever rejected the offer, but Kraft Heinz has expressed that it will continue to push for the deal.
- “Zealandia” might become recognized as a continent, as a paper published in the journal of the Geological Society of America contends that it is distinct enough to constitute a separate continent. What is Zealandia? A land mass submerged in the southwest Pacific that covers nearly 5 million sq km, of which 94 percent is under water.
