UK house prices have fallen for the third quarter in a row, marking the first time since 2012 that such a negative trend has been registered. According to latest figures, house prices dropped by more than 1%, taking the average price of UK property down to £218,390 ($281,917). Analysts say this is down to consumers being squeezed as incomes fail to keep up with inflation.
Tourists and locals alike are set for a rare treat, as London’s best-known landmark, the Houses of Parliament, are due to undergo a spectacular makeover! The buildings will be lit up in the colors of the rainbow flag tonight as part of the annual Pride Weekend celebrations. A large LGBT rainbow flag is also being flown from the adjacent Portcullis House for the second time.
The Brexit saga continues! Speaking at the G20 summit in Hamburg, Theresa May announced that the UK is seeking to be “bold” on the world stage as it negotiates its exit from the European Union. Some say the announcement placates earlier claims by the foreign secretary that the UK will lose influence on the world stage after Brexit.
