Theresa May faced criticism this week for refusing to take part in a BBC election debate as the other party leaders went head-to-head on Wednesday evening. She stated that her reason for the absence was that she was “thinking about Brexit negotiations”. The debate consisted of seven party leaders discussing the most pressing issues in the UK. European stocks rose for a second straight session on Friday, due to the optimism over record stock closing levels in the US. Investors have high hopes for US jobs report and will be watching it closely. The Stoxx Europe 600 index climbed 0.6% to 393.84, on track for its highest close since May 16.
We have to report some rather sad news…wine prices in the UK have reached an all-time high. A bottle of wine cost an average of £5.56 in the 12 weeks to March 25, 3 per cent more than in the same quarter last year. Due to unfavourable exchange rates and slower economic growth, an independent thinktank forecasts that wine prices will be 22 per cent higher by 2025. Oh no!
