  • This week, the UK Parliament agreed to a Brexit deal – for 15 minutes. The following vote, which aimed to agree on a rushed timetable to implement The Deal failed to pass, continuing the uncertainty. There’s now talk of a general election on December 12, or securing yet another extension from the EU in order to give the UK Parliament adequate time to implement the terms of the deal. One week, there’ll be a Bitesized Blighty without Brexit news, we promise…but it’s not going to be this week, or next.
  • Two people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic after 39 people were found dead in a refrigerated lorry in Essex, east of London. The victims – 31 men and eight women – are believed to be Chinese. Police have been given extra time to question the driver who was arrested on Wednesday.
  • In case you didn’t already know, today is World Lemur Day. The Bristol Zoological Society has been studying lemurs and working on their conservation in north-west Madagascar for 10 years, and have released this incredible photo essay to coincide.
