  • According to a senior European official, the UK may be forced to wait 30 years to get its money back from the EU’s bank after Brexit and could be on the hook for £30billion if “things go sour.” The UK has a 16 percent share in the bank which funds projects across the bloc, but it is due to leave after Brexit because only EU states are allowed to be a member.
  • Today, a Buckinghamshire pub was named Pub of the Year 2018 by the Michelin Eating Out In Pubs 2018 guide, and it is also the site of some intriguing local folklore. The Pointer is a charming 18th-century red-brick inn which sits in the picturesque village of Brill in Buckinghamshire. Legend has it that the Great Train Robbery was planned there – and that it's where the stolen money was divided up, too.
  • A damning investigation into digital crisis by the National Audit Office, found that NHS bodies had been warned as early as 2014 that their systems were vulnerable to hackers. The NHS has been ordered to ‘get its act together’ or risk another devastating cyber-attack like the ‘WannaCry’ ransomware breach which crippled the health service in May.
