Give & Take: Catering to the Well-Being of the Next Generation Through Mothers for Others

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, nearly half (47%) of U.S. families with young children reported diaper need in 2023, which is a 43.75% increase from 2010. With the average cost of disposable diapers at $1,000 per child annually, this essential bill often forces those in need to cut back on other household areas. During this time of heightened inflation, this crisis is even more pronounced causing added stress and anxiety for parents and caregivers. That’s why Prosek Partners’ Fairfield, Connecticut office partnered with Mothers for Others to alleviate some of the added strain this cost contributes to those in their community.

Mothers for Others supports the well-being of low- and limited-income families by providing diapers for children from birth to three years old. It is the largest independent diaper bank in Fairfield County in Connecticut and the only dedicated diaper bank serving the town of Greenwich. Mothers for Others works in partnership with several social services and non-profit organizations to serve close to 600 children each month.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Prosek’s Fairfield office organized a monetary fundraiser as well as a diaper and wipes drive during the month of March to support the organization. To further bolster the donation, Prosek applied a company donation to double the proceeds aiding more families throughout the county.

Thus far, Mothers for Others has provided over 900,000 diapers to residents of Fairfield County and have an ongoing virtual campaign aiming to distribute their one-millionth diaper in 2024. Until Father’s Day (6/16), they are fundraising towards their $20,000 target which will help the organization surpass its goal.
