What’s better than starting your day with a cup of coffee and your favorite newsletter?

Whether you’re looking to catch up on the headlines, read fresh opinions or just follow your favorite team of reporters, the following newsletters come as some of our colleagues’ top picks!

Milo Larkin, Associate Vice President, London

Favourite Newsletter: Bloomberg UK’s Money Distilled

Why I love it: Bloomberg’s John Stepek brings a fun UK-focused view on global markets, touching on everything from UK house prices to global asset allocation to trade war tariffs. He writes with both poise and humour, and often gives you a contrarian view to reference that can make you sound clever – although given my default, that isn’t hard. Also worth following on LinkedIn!

Favorite Newsletter: The New York Times’ DealBook

Why I love it: As writer Lauren Hirsch recently shared on Press Profiles, DealBook covers the “biggest business news of the day that CEOs and policy leaders care about.” DealBook is the morning read for me, to catch up on the most important headlines with their smart analysis and interviews included. I also like that they link to other publications’ coverage at the bottom, and their Saturday longer form pieces are always relevant and interesting.

Favourite Newsletter: FT Inside Politics

Why I love it: As a new UK-resident, Stephen Bush’s morning newsletter is a must-read for getting up to speed on UK-politics. Not only is it informative, but Bush’s witty takes on Whitehall/Westminster make this newsletter one of my favorite reads while taking the subway … errr, “tube”… to the office. And, in true British/Monty Python style, Bush also offers up something completely different each morning with a quick review of a movie or live event he’s recently seen.

Favorite Newsletters: Link in Bio, User Mag, CHARTR

Why I love them:

  • Link in Bio: Written by seasoned social media consultant Rachel Karten, this email focuses on the best of social media and the internet, including how to create engaging content, trending formats and examples, case studies on digital brand marketing, and links out to top performing content across LinkedIn, TikTok and Instagram. It is sent twice weekly, and one edition includes an interview with a social media professional with insights into their social strategy, content processes, and tips for creating best in class content.
  • User Mag: Written by well-known tech and culture journalist Taylor Lorenz, this newsletter dives into tech and online culture from someone who knows the ins and outs of the internet. Taylor provides her in-depth analysis on the juiciest stories from across the web, including tech platform updates, policy initiatives, and powerful forces shaping our online world, and includes links to other articles and headlines that she’s reading, and users should too.
  • CHARTR: Sherwood’s CHARTR is a data-driven newsletter that uses visual storytelling to bring to life the latest news and insights from the business world, tech sector, entertainment industry, and society. The author, JWS, combines his own insights with commentary from some of the savviest and most influential leaders across sports, media, and finance. For anyone looking to get smart on commercial dynamics within domestic and international sports, this one is a must-read. Subscribe here (and thank me later).

Andrew Kivette, Associate Vice President, New York

Favorite Newsletter: Punchbowl News AM

Why I love it: Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer have built the must-read dispatch of need-to-know news on Capitol Hill. I especially love their expanded “The Vault” coverage, which dives into what financial services industry pros need to know and the interconnectedness from the Hill and Wall Street.

Jonathan Chavkin, Senior Vice President, Washington DC

Favorite Newsletter: Axios “Future of Defense”

Why I love it: Defense and national security can be heavy topics, yet the “Future of Defense” newsletter consistently finds a way to talk about important and innovative ideas with the right blend of style and substance. It’s pithy, informative, and has that key human touch throughout. “Future of Defense” may be a new contribution to the scene, but it’s already my mid-week must read.

Marie Matta, Senior Vice President, New York

Favorite Newsletter: Fortune’s CEO Daily

Why I love it: To put it simply, Fortune’s CEO Daily makes me smarter. Our clients want to know what’s top of mind for CEOs and business leaders, and I do too! Reading CEO Daily every weekday gives me a front row seat into what’s keeping leaders up at night and what makes them tick. With trending headlines and relevant survey reports also included, it’s an easily digestible read that pairs well with morning coffee.

Favorite Newsletters: Opening Bell Daily, Forbes “Tax Breaks”

Why I love them:

  • Opening Bell Daily: When I want a quick, clearly outlined synopsis of what’s happening with the markets and why it all matters, I love reading Phil Rosen’s Opening Bell Daily newsletter. He does a great job of synthesizing trending industry stories and explaining their impact, as well as the historical context that explain the “why” and “what’s next” behind what we’re seeing. I also appreciate his “Elsewhere” and “Rapid-fire” sections where he lists major articles from other publications (Yahoo!, Bloomberg, WSJ, etc.), as they help me wrap my head around what the major stories are on a given day.
  • Tax Breaks: The author of “Tax Breaks,” Kelly Phillips Erb, does something I didn’t know was possible: she makes me actually want to read about tax news and legislation! A traditionally dry topic, Kelly makes taxes exciting and her newsletters offer a good mixture of news updates, advice, and personal anecdotes, as well as explainers for why certain topics and changes are important for businesses and consumers.

Favorite Newsletter: Brand New Weekly

Why I love it: Brand New, created by Armin Vit and Bryony Gomez-Palacio, is a design site that features and critiques prominent branding projects. Their newsletter, Brand New Weekly, summarizes all the highlights from the week prior with top images and comments. I love that it’s an easy way to keep my finger on the pulse for prominent rebrands, but also to gauge how they’re being received by the public in the comment section.
