Noteworthy events for the month ahead . . .
June is Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, National Safety Month, and Professional Wellness Month.
A few key general elections taking place in June: Latvia—president (June 3); Mexico—congress; Turkey—national assembly (June 7); and Denmark—parliament (June 18).
Chancellor Angela Merkel hosts the annual G7 Summit on June 7-8 in Schloss Elmau, south of Munich. Detailed agenda can be found here.
June is a popular month for major sport events. The Stanley Cup finals start on June 3 and the NBA finals tip off on June 4. The Women's World Cup kicks off in Canada on June 6, and wrapping up the month is the Wimbledon from June 29-July 12.
The Clintons host the 5th CGI America on June 8-10 in Denver. According to the website, "since the first meeting in 2011, CGI America attendees have made more than 400 Commitments to Action, which have already improved the lives of nearly 1.4 million people."
This year's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is on June 8-12 in San Francisco. Don't expect any shiny new devices to be launched during this year's conference.
Here are a couple of practical conferences for our European colleagues. PRWeek hosts its 10th Annual Crisis Communications Conference on June 18 in London. On June 30, the publication hosts the inaugural Internal Communications Europe conference in Amsterdam.
