Matthew Goodman

Senior Vice President
New York

Matthew is a senior vice president in Prosek's New York office, having recently relocated from the UK. He works on a range of clients, with a focus on private markets, and is particularly skilled at message development, content creation and media relations. 

He joined Prosek from a communications firm in London, where he worked for eight years following two decades as a business journalist. He spent the majority of his journalism career at The (London) Sunday Times, where he covered a range of sectors, including leisure and lodging, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and private capital.

Matthew has a BA with honors in Philosophy from the University of Leeds.


Q & A

What are you most proud of in your career?
Being part of the launch team of a new national newspaper takes some beating, but these days any time a client is delighted with the outcome of a project.

Name one thing most people don’t know about you.
Even though I have almost zero sporting ability, I have played soccer at three different Premier League football stadiums.

How would your mother describe you?
Warm, honest, a little too in love with cheeseburgers.

What are your greatest strengths as a communications practitioner?
An ability to empathize and a team player.

What is your favorite food?
Cheeseburger (see above)

Describe your perfect client.
When there is mutual appreciation of how the other works and what is achievable goes a long way to getting there

What three hobbies or activities do you enjoy most?
Going to the movies, playing tennis, hunting for ephemera (aka old junk) at flea markets.

What’s your favorite part of the workday?
Connecting with clients, whenever that happens to be.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life?
If Chris Pratt wanted to star in the world’s most boring movie, I’d be okay with that.
