Q & A

Name one thing most people don’t know about you.
I was a child actor and received my first paycheck before the age of two.

How would your mother describe you?
Cash cow (just kidding). If she were reading this she’d probably call me a smart aleck while trying hard not to admit that as the youngest of her seven children, I’m still the favorite.

What are your greatest strengths as a communications practitioner?
An active listener, I’m solutions-oriented, a thoughtful provider of honest feedback, a borderline-paranoid vulnerability assessor (I regularly think about what’s lurking behind the next corner), and relentlessly prioritize what’s in the best interest of a client over my own self-interest.

I bring many of the functions of a lawyer to the practice of communications: advisor, advocate, negotiator, intermediary, spokesperson, and evaluator -- and I endeavor to offer clients sage counsel and an informed understanding of situations unfamiliar to them while practicing honest dealings with all parties involved.

What is your favorite food?
Anything with mushrooms

Describe your perfect client.
One who recognizes value in forging a long-term partnership, is open about their goals and willing to define and evaluate success regularly.

What three hobbies or activities do you enjoy most?
Sailing, listening to music, and spending time with my wife and kids (and our golden retriever whom we’re all obsessed with).

What’s your favorite part of the workday?
Checking my phone in the morning for an early glimpse of how different the day will be from what I thought when I closed my eyes the night before.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life?
Since I’m not coming out of retirement (see question two above), Damian Lewis – besides our physique being identical, there are only so many redheaded actors to choose from.

What is your favorite quote?
“If you are under the impression you have already perfected yourself, you will never rise to the heights you are no doubt capable of.”
― Kazuo Ishiguro
