Brian Schaffer has 25 years of special situations experience providing corporate, transaction, crisis and investor communications counsel to senior management teams and boards of directors. He has helped position numerous M&A transactions, hostile takeover attempts, proxy contests (operating companies and funds), corporate and sovereign bankruptcies and restructurings, asset divestitures and public company listings.
Prior to joining Prosek in 2007, Brian was Director of Investor Relations at ntl, Inc. He was also Vice President of Investor Relations at Brainerd Communicators. Brian started his career at Morgen-Walke Associates after graduating with Honors from the University of Delaware.
Our work during the historic Argentina debt restructuring that settled in 2016 after 15 years, and more recently our work defending multiple closed-end fund complexes in proxy fights and related litigation.
Clearly in love with his work because he evidently doesn’t have enough time to call home more often.
My ability to manage a broad range of complex special situations that often involve conflicting communications needs of stakeholders, constituents and the media, all while remaining calm, alert and focused.
One that seeks and implements our counsel on a range of special situations matters and where we have the ear of the c-suite and boardroom.
The early morning’s proverbial calm before the storm. The special situations will materialize, and the calls will come, but what type of situation and from where is unknown. The unknown is what makes the job the most interesting.
My brother. He’s also in comms. It’s a family thing, you wouldn’t understand.
