Mark Kollar is a partner at Prosek, where he specializes in strategic communications, executive visibility, crisis and issues management, branding, as well as impact and sustainable investing.

As a former financial journalist, Mark also develops narratives and messaging for clients across private markets, alternatives, professional services and the energy industry. He has over 30 years experience in financial services and capital markets as a communications consultant and journalist. Mark was a trader on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and he even wrote the book, Twenty-Four Hour Trading: The Global Markets of Futures and Options, which was published by John Wiley and Sons, Inc.

Mark is the chairman of the board of The Epic Theatre Ensemble, a non-profit organization that works with the New York City public school system to help students develop a rich academic, artistic and professional life through theater. He graduated with an MA in English Literature from the University of Chicago and a BA in English Literature from DePauw University.

 

What are you most proud of in your public relations career?

Staying one step ahead of the client… and even the media.

Name one thing most people don’t know about you.

I studied classical piano for 12 years. (But haven’t played in two dozen years!)

One that challenges me and makes me smarter.

Who would play you in the movie version of your life?

That would be my debut role.
