Five Reasons Why Your Online Presence Will Replace Your Resume in Ten Years
Blogging provides anyone with an internet connection a forum and an opportunity to discuss any topic. But according to a Forbes article entitled, “5 Reasons Why Your Online Presence Will Replace Your Resume in 10 Years,” it has other benefits as well!
Here they are:
- Social networking use is skyrocketing while email is plummeting
- You can’t find jobs traditionally anymore
- People are managing their careers as entrepreneurs
- The traditional resume is now virtual and easy to build
- Job seeker passion has become the deciding factor in employment
A traditional resume is two-dimensional and an online presence allows individuals to define themselves and showcase character. This applies to companies as well. Facebook pages and Twitter accounts (to name a few) give personality to a business and its employees.
This is the era of tweeting, posting, blogging and chatting. Take advantage of it! Create an online presence and use it as a vehicle to reveal interests, experiences, stories and individuality.
